Cheyenne Faeh, PA-C Let’s all give a warm welcome to Cheyenne Faeh, physician assis- tant, joining the family medicine team at Samaritan Healthcare. Family practice is important to Faeh—she appreciates the oppor- tunity to have the consistency of providing ongoing care to patients. “I am eager to build relationships with my patients,” says Faeh, “and encourage them to make choices—even making small choices consistently—toward better health.” Faeh’s clinical experience includes providing patient care in rural community settings as well as at Duke University Medical Center. She has experience in chemistry and research in a hospital setting, and now she looks forward to combining that background with her desire to provide care to patients. “Each setting provided me ample opportunities to assume the primary responsibilities of patient care and work effectively as part of the healthcare team,” says Faeh. “I found a passion for primary care by treating a variety of patients and their needs—from complex issues to young, healthy individuals—caring for people as a whole and not just treating their symptoms.” medication and what it will do for them—they are more eager to make changes so it can happen.” Ewell is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physi- cian Assistants, has a master’s degree in physician assistant studies and has a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. “Providing care and seeing results in my patients makes me happy,” he says. “Taking the care we provide to the next level is how we make ourselves better providers.” James Ewell, PA-C Join us in welcoming James Ewell, physician assistant, to the family medi- cine team at Samaritan Healthcare. Ewell provides care for a wide range of patients, from teens to adults and elders. His experience includes family medicine; preventive health; exams, including men’s, women’s, and geriatric health; complex medical issues; and more. In addition to general family medicine, Ewell focuses on providing healthcare for adults with more complicated medical conditions, such as cancer, diabetes and other issues. Face-to-face patient care is a key component of Ewell’s family medicine practice—from explaining prescriptions to discussing the progress patients are seeing in their healthcare. Ewell enjoys spending time with his patients and getting to know their healthcare needs. He knows the importance of explaining treatment options so that patients understand and are encouraged to continue with their care plans. “By establishing a connection with my patients, I am able to help them be more preventive in their treatment,” says Ewell. “When they know why they are doing something—such as why they are taking a particular
