OB-GYN As an OB-GYN provider, Dr. Rasmussen is dedicated to womens’ health—and he’s very easy to talk to. He enjoys providing healthcare for women throughout all the stages of their lives. You don’t need a medical crisis or an emergency to see him—from regular checkups to surgery or medical emergencies, he offers a wide range of services to his patients without needing to refer them out of town. Dr. Rasmussen’s expertise in gynecological surgeries—including minimally invasive procedures—allows him to provide state-of-the-art surgical care to his patients. In addition to sur- gery, he offers routine well-woman care and exams, adolescent healthcare, family planning and birth control, prenatal care through delivery (both routine and high-risk pregnancies), infertility counseling, and menopausal care. CERTIFIED NURSE-MIDWIFE Lizzy Bonadies is our new certified nurse-midwife (CNM) who, along with Dr. Rasmussen, provides OB-GYN care for women of all ages. Since they work as a team, Dr. Rasmussen is available if additional care is needed for a complex pregnancy. The word midwife means “with women,” which means Bonadies offers compassionate care for women in all stages of pregnancy. Providing hands-on care in labor and delivery could mean back rubs, walking with the laboring woman, or other needs that may arise in helping labor to progress or to facilitate delivery. However, as a CNM, Bonadies’ care goes beyond that of a layperson midwife. She has specialized medical education and training in providing OB-GYN care. Bonadies is qualified to care for women with a variety of gynecological needs—caring for teens and women who need routine well-woman exams or birth control, those with infertility, and those with menopausal issues or who need other types of well-woman care. She especially wants her patients to know that she is dedicated to serving others. If they choose a midwife for their labor and delivery or for other female healthcare needs, she will listen to them and support them. Together, Dr. Rasmussen and Bonadies work as a team to help women of all ages in the greater Moses Lake region to live their healthiest lives.
