He grew up in Moses Lake, and he’s happy to be at Samaritan, caring for the people of the Basin he loves. Dr. Rasmussen enjoys providing health care for women throughout their lives—from adolescence to menopause, providing care for family planning, pregnancy, infertility and more. Dr. Rasmussen provides not only patient care, but also serves as the Medical Director for Samaritan’s OB/GYN department. “Whether it’s in the office or hospital setting, I love being able to offer a wide range of services to my patients throughout their lives without having to refer them out of town,” says Dr. Rasmussen. “I enjoy being accessible to my patients, whether it’s delivering babies or helping someone with infer- tility issues.” His expertise in gynecological surgeries—some minimally invasive—allows him to provide state- of-the-art surgical care to his patients. His sur- gical expertise includes vaginal, abdominal, and laparoscopic hysterectomies; urinary incontinence procedures; endometrial ablations; tubal ligations; and pelvic reconstruction. In addition to surgery, Dr. Rasmussen offers routine wellness exams, adolescent health, family planning and birth control, prenatal care through delivery (both routine and high-risk pregnancies), infertility counseling, menopausal care, and much more. Dr. Rasmussen aims to help women of all ages live their healthiest lives. “We are excited to have Dr. Rasmussen join our team as another step in providing world-class health care to the residents of the Columbia Basin,” says Theresa Sullivan, CEO of Samaritan Healthcare. “Having an OB/GYN specialist on our team shows our commitment to understanding and fulfilling the needs of our region.” Dr. Rasmussen earned his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed his OB/GYN residency at Northeast Ohio College of Medicine/ Aultman Hospital. He also has a master’s degree in business administration with a focus in public health care administration. He earned a bachelor’s degree in pre-med and biology from Washington State University.
