Nonprofit Org. U.S. Postage PAID Samaritan Healthcare Foundation 801 E. Wheeler Road Moses Lake, WA 98837 Samaritan the SPRING 2019 Samaritan Healthcare partners with five hospitals as Grand Columbia Health Alliance Samaritan Healthcare is pleased to announce that we are joining a newly established healthcare partnership—Grand Columbia Health Alliance (Alliance). The locally owned healthcare organizations participating with Samaritan Healthcare as founding members in the Alliance are Columbia Basin Hospital (Ephrata), East Adams Rural Healthcare (Ritzville), Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center (Odessa), Othello Community Hospital (Othello), and Quincy Valley Medical Center (Quincy). These six healthcare facilities have established the partnership to serve and care for our residents and the families of Adams, Grant, and Lincoln counties, and beyond. Each of the members is a community-owned hospital district founded and fundraised by their respective communities to serve the healthcare needs of their communities. “In joining together as Grand Columbia Health Alliance we aren’t competing with each other, we are competing together for the best health of our communities,” said Theresa Sullivan, CEO of Samaritan Healthcare. The Alliance allows each organization to collaborate and share resources and technology—providing patients with the convenience of state-of-the-art, local healthcare without needing to travel to large cities. “Combining resources also allows us better access to enhanced care at the best possible price for our patients,” Sullivan said. The communities represented by the participating healthcare facilities are each about 45 miles apart—allowing the six Alliance members to easily work together. The close proximity also allows patient access to specialized healthcare providers and increases each facility’s ability to access advanced technology and equipment by potentially sharing those costs. “Using today’s technology—including medical and communications technology—our community boundaries no longer define how we provide medical care,” Sullivan said. “With the Alliance, our Public Hospital Districts are stronger together and we honor the pioneering vision of our founders to independently serve and care for our residents.” As a first deliverable of the Alliance, the six founding healthcare organizations now have the ability to share medical resources, such as physicians, staff, or other resources. This allows the entire region to begin benefiting immediately from coordinated access to these resources. The members of the Alliance are all striving together for the best health of our residents. Right here, close to home, close to family, close to healing.
