Providers to

care for your

family

O

ver the past few

months, you may

have noticed some

provider changes at Samar-

itan Clinics. We are excited

to announce three new

providers preparing to join

Samaritan and to introduce

Tara Zamarron, ARNP,

who

is currently seeing patients

in Family Medicine.

Zamarron joined the

Family Medicine Depart-

ment in April with the main

goal of working with Kevin

Smith, MD, in a new team-

care approach. In light of

Dr. Smith’s retirement, we

have since moved Zamar-

ron into a full-time provider

role, where she is begin-

ning to see Dr. Smith’s

patients. Zamarron is also

accepting new patients,

and her appointment book

is filling up fast!

H. Scott Mounts,

ARNP,

who already lived

in Moses Lake, joined the

Family Medicine Depart-

ment on Aug. 23. He

is an Internal Medicine

ARNP with a great deal

of experience treating pa-

tients who require complex

treatment plans. Mounts is

well-loved by his patients,

and the entire staff is

thrilled to have him join the

Samaritan team. Mounts

has hit the ground running,

and his calendar is now

open for appointments.

Elaine Peterson,

DO,

is a pediatrician

who will be joining us

in September at the

Parkview Pediatric Clinic

building. Dr. Peterson is

a Washington native and

completed her DO training

at Pacific Northwest Uni-

versity. Her undergraduate

studies were completed

at Western Washington

University. During Dr. Pe-

terson’s interview, she said

how impressed she was by

the strong sense of com-

munity in Moses Lake.

Lexie Zuver, DO,

grew

up in central Washington

and is excited to return

home and provide full-

spectrum services in the

Family Medicine Depart-

ment, including obstet-

rics. Dr. Zuver completed

her DO training at Pacific

Northwest University. Her

undergraduate studies

were completed in Pasco,

Washington, and Salem,

Oregon. Zuver’s passions

include working with chil-

dren, community service

and patient education in a

rural health care setting.

Samaritan Healthcare is excited

to announce the opening of Car-

diac Rehabilitation Phase 2, lo-

cated inside of Samar itan

Hospital.

Our cardiac rehab

program is an individualized and

supervised program for patients

who have had specific kinds of

cardiac events. Participants in

cardiac rehab lessen their risks

of a recurring cardiac event with

education on how to control heart

disease, lessen the physical and emotional effects of heart

disease, and improve their stamina and strength to re-

sume daily activities and return to work. Participation in

a cardiac rehab program is covered by most insurances,

and a physician referral is required.

Research has shown that patients who are able to par-

ticipate in rehab services closer to home are more likely

to complete their program and maintain their lifestyle

changes over longer periods of time. Patients enjoy the

lasting health benefits of cardiac rehab at a convenient

location.

IS CARDIAC REHAB RIGHT FOR YOU?

Many patients are

eligible for cardiac rehab. Medicare covers those who have

had any of the following conditions or events: heart attack,

stent placement, bypass surgery, angina, heart or valve sur-

gery, or heart transplant. Private insurance coverage varies

but will be reviewed by staff before starting the program.

We know you have goals for your health—we do too!

Through this new program, we help patients identify,

modify and manage risk factors to reduce disability, mor-

bidity and mortality. Our patients experience improved

functional capacity and fewer activity-related symptoms.

Education is an important part of our program, and pa-

tients learn lifelong lessons about the management of

heart disease. We strive to improve each patient’s qual-

ity of life.

The core components of our program are baseline and

ongoing patient assessment, risk factor management, and

exercise and activity training. All of our patients are seen

by highly skilled exercise physiologists who specialize

in health and fitness. Confluence Cardiology oversees

all physicians.
