Samaritan
Healthcare
recognized
Assured Home Health and Hospice made
a donation to United Way in recognition
of Samaritan Healthcare’s dedication to
excellent home health care, stating that
together, we are improving the health and
wellness of people in our community. As-
sured Home Health and Hospice thanked
Samaritan for their commitment to a
continued partnership—a partnership
with purpose.
Every year Samaritan schedules a day in
December to serve a holiday meal to em-
ployees. This catered meal by Michael’s
on the Lake is steeped in tradition, as it
has been a yearly event for 15 years. It’s a
chance for Samaritan to thank employees
for their yearly service and give managers
the opportunity to serve their staff.
Once again, the heavenly aroma of suc-
culent prime rib and savory chicken pasta
drew staff to the café, where they were
greeted by members of the Senior Leader-
ship Team and department managers and
directors. After making food selections,
the hardest decision was trying to choose

Making
memories
which festively decorated table to sit at
and, later, vote for.
When asked about their favorite part
of the event, several people cited the food,
mentioning that it was especially nice to
have it catered—meaning nutrition ser-
vices staff get to sit and enjoy the time,
as well. One staff member mentioned
that she enjoys getting to spend a few
minutes with other employees that she
doesn’t often see.
Another highlight mentioned was the
table décor (and competition). Depart-
ments signed up early for the privilege
to decorate a table, and the healthy
competition that ensued made the weeks
leading up to the meal quite lively. Decora-
tions ranged from humorous and playful
to classic and elegant—a snowman with
a bucketful of snowballs sat next to an
elegant crystal tower of ornament-filled
goblets. The wide variety of choices made
the competition seem extremely difficult!
No worries for Environmental Services,
though; for the second year in a row, their
department took the top votes with their
table display of a snow globe-filled glitter-
ing red sled, set off by soft red stockings
hung around the entire perimeter of the
table.
Many of these meals have left lasting
memories for employees. One staff mem-
ber mentioned the year an unwitting squir-
rel collided with an electrical fuse and the
lights flickered out. Another fond memory
was the meal that included a harpist play-
ing while everyone ate. Going back many
years, the memory of having the meal
served in a portable classroom located on
the Samaritan campus gave longtime staff
a good chuckle.
One thing resonated in all the employ-
ees spoken with—they appreciate this meal
and the gift of holiday spirit and camara-
derie it lends to their season.

Samaritan obstetrics-gynecology delivers
My previous OB-GYN provider had relocated out of town, so when I found out I was expecting, I
needed to find a new provider. Dr. Truong, at Samaritan OB-GYN, came highly recommended from
a friend, and I decided to schedule an office visit with him. I am so glad that I did!
Dr. Truong consistently provided high-quality and patient-focused care during my pregnancy. At
my first appointment, I easily saw that patient- and family-centered care occurred naturally with Dr. Truong.
As an OB patient, I had many appointments and my care was consistently delivered with kindness, professional-
ism and clear communication. Dr. Truong listened to my concerns, but more importantly, I knew what I shared was
being heard and any question I had (and I had lots) was happily answered.
One of my favorite things about Dr. Truong and his staff is their wel-
coming smiles and friendliness. They really made me feel like it
was a privilege to care for me. I am so excited that Dr. Truong
is caring for the women in our community because I know
they are receiving the excellent care they deserve.”
