Welcome New Phys 4 | THE SAMARITAN Our goal as a locally owned healthcare facility is to develop healthy Samaritan Healthcare has recruited 16 physicians and pr Ladan Modallel, MD, FAAP Pediatrics Ladan Modallel, MD, FAAP, has joined Samaritan as our full time, on-staff pediatrician. Dr. Modallel cares for patients from infants through young adults and she especially enjoys caring for newborns—following them throughout their growth and development. She works as a teamwith Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Kimberlee Poole in the pediatrics department. Pediatrics is conveniently located in larger, newly remodeled space on the third floor at Samaritan Clinic—allowing families to have their family healthcare services under one roof. Dr. Modallel is board certified through the American Board of Pediatrics and she performed her residency at Texas Tech Health Science Center in Amarillo. She earned her medical doctorate at Tehran University of Medical Sciences and she studied healthcare management training at Williams College in London (UK). Dr. Modallel also received additional experience in surgery, internal medicine, orthopaedics, ER, and outpatient care in the UK and Iran. Before joining Samaritan, Dr. Modallel was a pediatrician in Kentucky and California, in both clinic and hospital settings. “I enjoy the diversity of healthcare needs in my pediatric patients,” said Dr. Modallel. “Children relate to me and their parents appreciate that I can connect with their children and understand them, while also providing the diagnoses and comprehensive care that they need.” Pranav Patel, MD Family Medicine Pranav Patel, MD, has joined our Family Medicine team and will provide care for patients of all ages for a full range of primary care needs—from preventive health or illness, to immunizations, infant or well-child exams, sports physicals, and the full range of women’s and men’s health concerns. As a Family Medicine physician, Dr. Patel works as a teamwith other doctors, providers, and staff. He takes the time to listen to concerns so patients feel at ease—establishing a foundation of trust with every one. Dr. Patel is a board-certified family physician through Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, where he was chief resident. He received his medical doctorate and bachelor of science degree in health sciences from American University of Antigua. He earned his bachelor of science in biochemistry fromWayne State University in Detroit. His education and Family Medicine residency have provided experience in diagnosing and caring for patients of all ages, whether their conditions are complex or they need preventive or routine treatment. “Many things can affect a patient’s health, so establishing trust is important in providing high-quality care and treatment,” said Dr. Patel. “I especially enjoy making connections that span generations to care for entire families.”
