Samaritan Healthcare | The Samaritan | Summer 2018
Summer 2018 5 SAMARITAN CLINIC ead of schedule I I I Café gets new look Another remodeled area that patients and staff are enjoying is the new INSPIRE Café.The café was created thanks to the generosity of Samaritan’s INSPIRE committee, which is the employee-giving branch of the Samaritan Foundation. Samaritan employees raised $30,000 to create INSPIRE Café, which is rented and run by Red Door Café, a local restaurant. “When we went into this venture, we wanted to find a vendor who provided locally sourced foods and healthy options,” says Gretchen Youngren, director of development and communications at Samaritan Healthcare. “The Red Door Café has been running our INSPIRE Café since January, and everyone is very happy with the results. In addition to great coffee and espressos, you’ll find something for every appetite, from breakfast wraps and paninis to salads and homemade soups. It’s all made from scratch—they even make fresh bread every day. We love offering such a delicious, healthy menu to our patients and staff alike.” What’s next? Now that the remodeling has been successfully completed, the next steps for Samaritan involve adding more staff. We recently moved some of our family medicine team upstairs to make room for additional healthcare providers on the first floor. “This is all happening because we’re growing,” says Kellum. “We continue to focus on improving access to healthcare for our community members—from remodeling our clinic, to bringing in the right providers to meet the needs of our growing region. It all works together as we continue to fulfill our mission, ‘All of us, for each of you, every time.’” “We continue to focus on improving access to healthcare for our community members— from remodeling our clinic, to bringing in the right providers to meet the needs of our growing region.” —Kyle Kellum, clinic director at Samaritan Healthcare
